Job Description

OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Agile Scrum Master to join our team on a contract basis. In this role, you will collaborate with Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams to develop and optimize processes for intake, triage, grooming, prioritization, planning, and execution. As both a leader and coach, your goal will be to enhance each team’s operational maturity.

You will work closely with Architects, Engineering Managers, and Technical Program Managers (TPMs) to align daily tasks with organizational goals. Your responsibilities will include managing risks, removing obstacles, facilitating stakeholder engagement, and mentoring teams to foster a culture of adaptability and continuous improvement.

Contract: Sept - March 2025

Hourly Rate: $60-70/hour DOE

Location: Remote (US based - must be eligible to work W2 in the US without sponsorship)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies temporarily while training teams on Scrum Master roles.
  • Lead efforts to clean up backlogs, intake processes, sprint boards, and dashboards.
  • Evaluate and improve the quality of work tickets.
  • Identify and address obstacles hindering team velocity.
  • Promote continuous improvement through retrospectives and feedback.
  • Support teams in managing stakeholder communication, risks, and quarterly roadmaps.
  • Ensure adherence to Agile principles and encourage self-organization.
  • Create internal Agile documentation for team reference.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Scrum Master in product development.
  • Strong knowledge of Agile principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Experience with JIRA and Confluence.
  • Ability to lead and facilitate Scrum ceremonies.
  • Technical project management experience (preferred)
  • Experience with SRE or Infrastructure teams in cloud-hosted environments (preferred)
  • Certifications in Agile methodologies (CSM, PSM) is a plus.
  • SAFe and Kanban certifications are a plus.
