FURNITURE FIXTURE & EQUIPMENT BUYER (FF & E)

REPORTS TO: PURCHASING MANAGER

STATUS: EXEMPT

The FF & E Buyer reports to the Manager of Purchasing and will work alongside the Visual Merchandise, Construction, Real Estate and Facilities Departments. They will assist in the design, prototype, bidding, delivery, storage and total use of life of FF & E. It will be their responsibility to ensure the FF & E is produced and delivered on time, within scope, within specifications and within budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work with manufacturers and suppliers to produce and deliver FF&E to retail stores, corporate offices and warehouses.
  • Strategically source fixtures, furniture, equipment, flooring, lighting, general construction materials and other related FF&E.
  • Collaborate with essential departments to create specifications, samples, pricing, RFP’s and budgets.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including obtaining quotes, negotiating pricing, and ensuring timely deliveries.
  • Ensure all FF&E items comply with company standards, quality requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Creating, maintaining and organizing all documentation related to FF&E purchases.
  • Address and resolve any issues related to FF&E, such as delays, defects, or discrepancies.
  • Develop rollout schedules and timelines for FF&E that are communicated to departments as required.
  • Partner with accounting on budgeting and expense reporting.
  • Ensure all supplier contracts are current.
  • Create and maintain an FF&E library relevant to all samples.
  • Demonstrates high level of quality work, attendance, and appearance.
  • Demonstrates high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management.
  • Adhere to all local, federal and state laws in addition to Company policies, procedures, and practices.
  • Perform any additional duties that may be assigned by management.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication, customer service, time management and organizational skills.
  • High School diploma or GED required, Bachelor’s Degree in related field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years experience in related field.
  • Experience in a multi-unit retail environment is preferred.
  • Experience with Purchasing Software or other tools necessary to manage inventory.

  • A reasonable understanding of Materials, Finishes, PMS/4CP, Laminates and other relatable FF & E manufacturing techniques.
  • Ability to value-engineer FF&E without jeopardizing the look or structural integrity of the FF&E.
  • Strong understanding of transporting goods: Freight, LTL, Full Truck, Rail, Air, Import, Cross Docking and other relatable methods of transportation.
  • Strong understanding of warehousing FF&E: FIFO, LIFO, JIT, Reporting and other relatable warehousing strategies.
  • Ensure Effective Communication - Listens carefully and attentively to others' opinions and ideas. Communicates information clearly, concisely, and professionally.

PAY RANGE: $80,000.00 - $100,000.00/yr*

*compensation varies based on geography, skills, experience, and tenure
