Minimum Qualifications:

  • Four years of professional experience in teaching or coordinating programs or projects for museums or in an arts related field – OR – Bachelor’s degree with major course of study in fine art, folklore, history, anthropology, American studies, dance, design arts, drama, literature, music, performing arts, visual arts, museum studies, arts management, arts administration, or related field.
  • Experience with grant administration.
  • Must submit a current resume and cover letter that addresses the required knowledge, skills and abilities specified in the advertisement. Applicant will be disqualified if resume and cover letter are not submitted with application.

Preferences:

  • Six years of professional experience in teaching or coordinating programs or projects for museums – OR – Master’s degree with major course of study in museum studies;
  • Experience leading boards, panels, committees;
  • Experience working with collaborative teams.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Program Manager is a professional administrator with subject matter expertise (arts) and able to effectively communicate with constituents. Demonstrates exceptional customer service, accountability, adaptability, dependability, initiative, and exemplary personal conduct and relationships, all of which are core values of the Division and the Department of State.

This is a full-time Program Manager position with assigned specific disciplines. Manages and monitors grants awarded by agency for cultural programs in Florida. Duties include processing and reviewing applications; selection of panelists and coordination of panel meetings; and management of grant contracts.

This manager is a grants team member. Conducts annual desk audits of selected grantee organizations and schedules site visits whenever possible. Regularly reviews DOS Grants procedures and communicates with other staff and IT liaison. Participates in grants training webinars for constituents.

Works closely with DAC strategic plan and executes assigned areas of the plan.

Performs other duties as required.

  • Knowledge of the arts, arts administration and management.
  • Ability to review and evaluate program compliance.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate events and program functions.
  • Ability to conduct research.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform public speaking duties.
  • Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to efficiently operate computer software.
