about our internship program:

The fairlife Summer Internship Program is designed to welcome interns across our locations to gain meaningful experience and social and professional development opportunities. For 11 weeks, interns will work in one of our three locations: Chicago, IL, Coopersville, MI, or Goodyear, AZ. fairlife's paid internship program also offers a summer full of social, professional, and community engagement events including exposure to our senior leadership and executives across the business in small group settings, insight into company initiatives, off-site field trips, and for those qualified and selected, an opportunity to pursue a full-time job opportunity.

The fairlife 2025 Summer Internship Program will take place from 6/2 through 8/15 at the fairlife location specified in this job description.

job purpose :

The Data Engineering Intern will play a role in delivering fairlife's ambition of building a best-in-class Data and Decision Intelligence (DDI) ecosystem. This role will support the digital transformation of our manufacturing operation, translating technical requirements from our factories into targeted solutions that fit into fairlife's broader data framework, roadmap and architecture.

skills/qualifications required:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a four-year undergraduate degree program
  • Student entering the fall semester as a junior or senior preferred
  • Preferred focus on Computer Science, Data Science, or any Engineering degree
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0, or higher
  • Experience with SQL
  • Experience with at least one object-oriented language (Python, Java, C#, etc.)
  • Ability to handle ambiguity and work in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.


learning objectives:

  • Learn to design and implement ETL pipelines for factory telemetry data
  • Assist in creating data models in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop skills in the Azure cloud tech stack
  • Apply data engineering concepts to solve practical problems for the business
