Job Description and Duties

Under the direction of the Crime Analyst Supervisor (CA Sup), the Crime Analyst (CA) II performs the most complex analytical tasks associated with identifying, monitoring, and tracking sex and arson offenders in the California Sex Offender Registry Program (CSORP). Duties include: analyzing criminal history and related information to establish and maintain sex or arson offender's requirement to register pursuant to Penal Code (PC) sections 290 and/or 457.1; responding to the more difficult requests for information on sex and/or arson offenders submitted from law enforcement and other criminal justice agencies. Duties include: acting as the lead technical analyst for the Risk Assessment and Record Validation Unit (RA&RVU).

    Please submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) with your application in which you MUST respond to the following questions:

    1) Provide an example of a time when you worked in a role where attention to detail was paramount. For example, analyzing data entry, reviewing documents, or performing quality assurance. How did you ensure accuracy and integrity of the information you were analyzing and reviewing?

    2) Can you describe a project where you had to gather and organize large sets of statistical data in Excel? What methods did you use to collect and manage the data efficiently?

    Your SOQ must be typed, at least one (1) full page but less than two (2) pages in length, and formatted using 12 point Arial font, single spacing, and one-inch margins.

    Your SOQ must contain your name and the job control number of the position in the header.
