Job Description

We are seeking a COBOL Developer to join a great team with one of the largest enterprises in Columbia, SC.
As a key member of the development team, you will play a critical role in managing and enhancing our host-side operations for claims processing.

Key Responsibilities :

• Application Development : Perform all phases of system analysis, design, code, test, debug, and maintain complex applications to support our information systems.
• Business Alignment : Ensure team members understand business requirements, maintain organizational standards, and deliver applications according to project timelines. Provide expert system knowledge and support.
• Program Maintenance : Modify and maintain programs based on specifications, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
• Testing and Documentation : Test programs, debug, create test files, verify logic, and document processes.
• System Analysis : Analyze and enhance existing or proposed systems, develop functional and technical specifications, and document workflows and procedures.

Work Environment :

• Onsite position in Columbia, SC in a fast-paced, multi-platform environment.
• Requires 24/7 availability to support technical business needs.
• The role involves passing a C-2 Security Clearance and working closely with a small team of developers.

Qualifications :

• 4+ years of application development and systems testing experience.
• Strong COBOL skills, with knowledge of mainframe environments.
• Proficiency with CICS, DB2, IMS, MQ, IBM Batch JCL, Easytrieve, APS Code Generator, Vendor Pricing Software, and EDz vendor product for APS on non-host systems.
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
