Job Description
Summary of Responsibility:
Responsible for assisting in the planning, developing, organizing, implementing and directing the activity programs to ensure that the spiritual development, emotional, recreational and social needs of the residents are maintained on an individual basis.
Duties:
- Set up and carry out activities as planned
- Clean Activity room between activities
- Go to apartments to invite residents to activities and assist in getting them back to apartments
- Attend Activity Planning meetings
- Assist volunteers with activities
- Assist with cleaning the bus
- Transportation of residents to Doctor appointments
- Observe residents for changes in condition and report to the Nursing Staff
- Continue all activities in the building
- Help with putting up and taking down of holiday themes
- Plan activities outside of facility (weekly trips)
- Attend all staff meetings
Education and Experience:
- Must be able to speak, read and write in the English language.
- Must possess knowledge of planning activities in group settings
- One (1) year experience in working with elderly desired. Previous knowledge in Activity Director job history.
- Should have creative aptitude for training in arts, crafts and games.

Must be able to lift and transfer residents, using proper body mechanics as needed.
