The Old Town House comes from the Renaissance time, more exactly from 1480. The most important and oldest trade route in Europe, Via Regia, runs directly along the house. The apertures in which travelling merchants presumably had to pay duty in former times are still to be seen.
Today the Old Town House stands under conservation of monuments and historic buildings. It was resored affectionately and renovated in 2011 extensively and redeveloped. We have paid attention to preserve the original atmosphere and could receive in some rooms even the stucco covers. At the same time we have created a Mediterranean, Italian atmosphere. In no other build in Görlitz you find this unique combination of history, modern age and Italian culture.
